Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026 | Governing law: Republic of South Africa
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PropGuard SA ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
PropGuard SA provides a voluntary stolen-property registry that allows individuals and dealers to register items by serial number and check whether items have been reported stolen. The Service is provided on a free and paid-plan basis.
3. User Obligations
- You must provide accurate information when registering items or creating an account.
- You may not register items you do not own or have no lawful authority over.
- You may not use the Service to make false or misleading reports.
- You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
4. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, and software on this platform are the property of PropGuard SA (Pty) Ltd. You may not reproduce or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. PropGuard SA does not guarantee that a "clear" result means an item is not stolen — only that it has not been reported to our registry. Always exercise due diligence when purchasing second-hand goods.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, PropGuard SA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or to discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South Gauteng High Court.
